Google is now a household name as this 21st century innovative and technological company has made its mark all over the world. However, analysts are trying to figure out why Google’s stock value is at a shocking $485.
This year, Google’s shares fell for over 15%. Last Friday, their stocks fell by 3%, putting Google’s price at 14.5 times its 2011 earnings estimates. That is a figure a little bit lower compared to Union Pacific Railways and a little bit higher than CSX and Norfolk Southern.
Analysts say that Google’s growing stage may have ended a long time ago and it has arrived at a stagnant phase. Figures show that Google’s earning are only expected to rise by 15% this 2011 and in 2012 which is 30% lower than its annual growth rate from the past years.
Add to that the fact that Google is not growing as much as Facebook and all its other competitors on the web. There are a lot of other emerging search engines that have been becoming popular in other parts of the world such as Baidu from China.
It is also probable that there are some investors who are not that confident in the performance of Google now that its co-founder Larry Page is heading the company. This April, Page took over Eric Schmidt as CEO. So far, there have been some changes in how the company runs under Page’s reign. Since that time of the change in power, Google’s year to date stock has slipped slowly, much to a lot of investors’ dismay.

I also see that my students and I see things differently. Last Friday I wanted to show a few of my students a new game, but they resisted. I asked them to give it a try and they did. I'm not aware of any WV case law on point with respect to my argument about the fifth amendment. I've never yet had to attempt to appeal this issue thankfully. However, I am aware of a similar case involving a friend of mine.
During the course of a felony jury trial he attempted to call a rebuttal witness. The witness was not disclosed. After all, it was a rebuttal witness (this is my understanding of what happened anyways). The overly aggressive prosecutor (who one time promised to "remain silent on sentencing" in one of my cases and underhandedly ended up sneaking in something like, "but your honor, I would note that [insert non-silent argument for incarceration here]") moved to exclude/suppress the rebuttal witness. The judge ended up doing so, then immediately declared a mistrial based on ineffective assistance of counsel. Then the judge sanctioned the attorney with the costs of the jury trial up to that point.
Anyways, the attorney filed a writ of prohibition to the WV Supreme Court of Appeals (no intermediate appellate court). And they granted the writ with respect to the sanction, noting that to do this would have a "chilling effect" on the willingness [...]
On Monday, the Court will hear oral argument in CSX Transportation v. McBride (10-235).
