The latest IRS tax dodgers list features a lot of celebrities who were trying to evade their taxes each year. This is despite the higher earnings that some of these celebrities had placed on their pockets for this year. Due to this the IRS tax division has reported that the current tax gap between what was reported and owed reached $290 billion.
The IRS tax dodgers for this year highlight the famous star Val Kilmer as the rightful owner of the top spot. Kilmer has been a subsequent tax dodger for a few years now. He has just settled his problem with taxes by paying a total of $538,858 last year.
Another celebrity that is facing IRS tax problem is Richard Hatch. Federal prosecutors in Rhode Island are now furious to place the former “Survivor” star behind bars. This is because Hatch has refused to pay taxes for his earnings a couple of times. This includes the tax for the $1 million price he won and for this he spent three years in jail.
The famous hip-hop star Nas is also facing problems with his taxes. As of the moment, IRS hopes to wrap the amount owed by the popular hip-hop wrapper amounting to about $6.46 million .Besides having an attitude of creating tension with the IRS and other fellow stars such as Jay-Z, Nas had been evading his tax duties even for his condominium in Queens.
IRS hopes to recover these taxes that celebrities owe from the government. This is a huge amount of money that could help the country’s struggling economy.
